Welcome to
My Herbal Journey
I’ve always felt at home in gardens and among plants. Herbalism, for me, has never been about mastery—it’s about listening, tending, and learning over time.
After retiring in 2020, I enrolled in a three-year herbalist program to deepen my understanding. I completed the program, but what followed was something quieter and more meaningful: a continuing plant path shaped by curiosity, seasonality, and lived experience.
From Mimi is a place to share that journey—what I’m learning, what I’m practicing, and what I’m still discovering. It’s offered in the spirit of community, conversation, and shared knowledge. Hi I am so glad to meet you. Please come with me.
Harvest Highlights
From Mimi's garden to yours.
I will share with you how I get my garden to grow in a zone 5. Yes where I live the growing season is short and a freeze can literally happen any day of the year. I have 3 gardens, a hot house, and outside garden with beds, and what I refer to as my wild garden. All 3 gardens have different zones and mini climates. I will share my wins and losses. The fun thing I harvest out of all 3 of my gardens every year and have great herbal products to share with family and friends.

Discover the Wonders of Fire Cider
Fire Cider has been a fall tradition around the world for years. A spicy concoction that helps boost the immune system and chase away a cold or flu. I make Fire Cider every fall to make sure I have it on hand when one comes home and sits down and you say to yourself; “I’m tired I feel like I am coming down with something.” As soon as you mutter those words, its time to break out the Fire Cider and have a drink of this magic elixir.
- Aromatherapy: Breath in Fire Cider and you sinuses will start to run and clear. Ahh horse radish our friend.
- Culinary Uses: I love to add Fire Cider to soups, stews and use it as a base for salad dressings.
- Home Remedy: Put a little Fire Cider in the bottom of your cup and add hot water for a warming healing cup of tea.
